BMSZ constantly engages stakeholders, decision-makers, influencers, and utilizes all available windows of opportunity to advocate for improved policies and programs and increased financial and political commitments for advancing laboratory medicine in Zambia and beyond. We do this through conferences, media statements, laboratory week activities, position papers, and other advocacy avenues as spaces to facilitate more inclusive decision-making. We engage and empower decision makers with evidence and messages aimed at advising and influencing the Zambian government, international agencies, or other key decision-makers on medical laboratory issues.
We engage in public health discourse and interrogate current laboratory policies and practices to drive meaning change. We amplify our voice through closely working with and advising health-related institutions such as the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA), Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA), National Health Research Authority, Ministry of Health, Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ). We provide a platform for our strategic partners to amplify their voices to influence governments and other key stakeholders relevant to the advancement of quality and safe laboratory medicine.
